About PostSAVE

PostSAVE is an independent decision hub for the millions of federal student-loan borrowers exiting SAVE forbearance. We publish statute-cited comparisons of every income-driven repayment plan — IBR, PAYE, ICR, RAP, and the 10-year Standard — and the tax consequences that follow.

We are not financial advisors and we are not affiliated with the U.S. Department of Education. We earn referral fees from refinance lenders only when refinance is appropriatefor the borrower — not when they're PSLF-track or Parent-PLUS-heavy. Our refi component literally returns null in those cases.

Editorial review

No standing credentialed reviewer yet
Our content is researched and verified directly against primary sources — the CFR, U.S. Code, IRC, IRS publications, ED releases, and the bill text — and every policy claim carries a last-verified date on /policy-state. We do not currently retain a CFP®/CSLP® credentialed reviewer. When one is engaged, their name and verifiable credentials will be listed here — until then we make no such claim.

How we work

  • Every policy claim carries a primary-source citation (CFR / U.S. Code / IRS / ED).
  • Monthly review cron flags any pin older than 90 days for re-verification.
  • Comparator inputs (AGI, balance, family size) never leave the user's browser.
  • No fabricated reviewers, no fabricated stats, no urgency manipulation.
